Healing Communities

Drawing on interviews in a community in NW Tanzania, the authors expose the culturally ingrained need to explain sickness and death through relational causes: "who is to blame?". Instead of either affirming or denying local worldviews and belief systems, they show how responding in a carefully contextualised way can bring about a transformative response, offering hope for healing and reconciliation.
